Saras mum seems to have grown happier as the day went on. Sara said that he was not really the type of huy she would go for but she will see

27 year old marketing executive lucie is indeed part of couple match 4

The experts are discussing final match and are concerned there will not be a mutual attraction for their final match lucie is the female match. The male match was 30 year old Steve a client support worker and budding writer he was previously in the forces

Lucie put off telling her father as she did not know how they would react, he finds its strange and harder to accept that if they had met in a conventional way

Steve is getting fit, having cosmetic tooth surgery and going to stop smoking for the wedding.

He is not that self-assured.

The wedding goes off without a hitch, Steve seems very awkward with it all and can’t seem to relax at the reception

married at first sight season 2 episode 2

the episode began with clark from the previous episode saving it was amazing to wake up with his new wife.

an insight was given as to why they were matched and this was mainly fue to them both having a nesting gene and wanting the same from a partner

we were introduced to two new couple pairings;

Couple 2 – Adam Donoghue a 33 year old Train Manager from Dorset was matched with Caroline Knott a 28 year old Operations Executive from London

and

Couple 3 – Adam 32 a Trainee Counsellor and Sara 30 a Personal Assistant

This episode followed both couples but only the wedding for couple 2 was shown

Looking at couple 2 Caroline was very open minded about putting trust in experts finding her a partner. She appeared to genuinely feel the process could work. Her sister was very supportive and her father apprehensive. Adam was quite geeky and appeared to not be that experienced in relationships and suggested he had only had one previous relationship. His accommodation was very bachelor pad and full of marvel type memorabilia

Caroline purchased a pre owned wedding dress for the wedding and the wedding looked to be a success and he couple on marrying appeared to get along very well. Interestingly Adams best man was his female best friend which sent social media into overdrive

With regards to couple 3 the experts alluded to the fact that they would have to keep an eye on Adam as he did not possess a nesting gene where as Saea did. This could cause problems further down the line. Sara’s mother was horrified by the prospect of her daughter marrying a complete stranger her best friend how ever was very supportive. Presumably the wedding will be included in episode 3.

We were also introduced to another single woman Lucie a 27 year old marketing executive but no match was mentioned.

married at first sight season 2 episode 1

So it begins again a bunch of singletons and 4 experts attempting to match them through DNA, psychological profiling, a questionnaire and a tape measure

It will be interesting to see if the process works this time as the first series ended with one no show and two divorces.

The five-week ‘experiment’ begins when the couples meet as complete strangers and marry at first sight, and continues with a honeymoon and four weeks of living together as man and wife.

It concludes with ‘decision day’, when the couples must decide whether to stay together or seek a divorce

Once again the experts are Dr Anna Machin, Dr Mark Coulson, Rev Nick Devinish and Jo Coker

The initial couple selected were 27 year old Melissa a Student Nurse and 26 year old Clark a business development manager.

Melissa told her parents 6 weeks before the wedding that she was going to marry a complete stranger at first they seemed to be quite shocked as you would expect but warmed to the idea.

Clarks mum seemed to be happy with the prospect where as his father had concerns.

On the day of the wedding Melissa was worried that when she first set eyes on Clark she would not fancy him. Clark on the way to the wedding was becoming nervous and apprehensive. Whilst waiting for Melissa to arrive at the wedding venue Clark could only keep muttering ‘oh my god’.

They seemed to be happy when they first met afer exchanging vows they went off for an hour I guess to chat to each other before heading to the reception.

The best mans speech was full of comments emphasizing Clarks past failed relationships.

They then headed off for the wedding night. Earlier in the process both mentioned they did not expect anythig physical to occur on that first night.

After the episode twitter was awash with comments from women who were taken with Clark and would willingly step in to look after him if the relationship failed

Cosmopolitan have internet stalked the couple and believe that they are still together after reading Clark’s instagram account. From what I can see its not that obvious

His instagram account is here

Hers is here

#marriedatfirstsight uk series 1 the divorce

So the final nail in the coffin of the married at first sight uk experiment.

The only couple that stayed together of the two after marrying Emma Rathbone and James Ord-Hume have announced they are to divorce. The reasons being lack of chemistry, love and bickering.

This has not come as a great surprise as they did not seem that matched during the process but looked to have given it a chance to work.

To recap the other couple that married on the tv show were Jason Knowles and Kate Stewart their marriage only lasted two weeks and it was reported that Jason had started internet dating during this time. Their marriage has now been annulled on the grounds of Jasons unwillingness to consummate the wedding

The third couple Sam McDonald and Jack Finn-Kelcey did not actually get married . Sam pukked out of the process shortly before they were due to marry. It was reported after the tv show aired that Sam had got in contact with Jack after seeing him on the show when it was aired. They subsequently started dating but after a few months.

So what now …. Channel 4 are looking to air a second series and have invited applicants. Presumable they are now going through a selection process . No known air date has been announced to my knowledge

The Apprentice 2015

So the final of the 2015 apprentice lineup was between Joseph Valente and Vana Koutsomitis.

Joseph’s business plan surrounded expanding his plumbing business by pitching an idea to become preferred suppliers to property agents to areas outside of his current region

Vana’s business plan was to launch a dating app that combined online dating with game playing. The games would be a form of psychrometric analysis.

Industry experts and Lord Sugar quickly picked up the fact that Vana’s business would require more than the £250,000 investment to get to market. Vana had spoken to an app developer who suggested a basic app with few features would cost £30000 to £40000 to develop and for a more fully featured app would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds and would need marketing.

Lord Sugar chose Joseph Valente as his business partner.

In his final summing up Lord Sugar did say he knew technology rather than the service industry, but the required investment for Vana’s idea seemed to be the downfall of her idea. Questioning her further she admitted the £250000 would be used as seed funding to get an app developed and to market and hopefully withing 6 months they would have 100000 users, She admitted she would have to get further funding to succeed but believed she could sell her idea to get extra funding from Venture Capitalists.

Unless Lord Sugar was willing to put in more money this would water down his shareholding so probably was not an attractive proposition. One industry expert implied there were about 15 dating apps coming to market per month.

It does make you wonder how people with ideas can become successful in the internet/app world. The average person could not easily provide the funds that are being suggested. Most successful apps are free and people seem to expect them to be free. In app purchases seem to work but there has been numerous negative reports of how easy it is for people to run up very large bills to use the app or if a game (progress further). This is especially true of apps aimed at Children.

Up until recently adverts were fairly non existant on apps and users were using the app version more tha the browser version of sites. Today apps now do show adverts but numerous ad blockers exist to stop ads from being displayed though these apps are being outlawed by the app stores; even some websites have been coded so that they show a banner to users if they have ad blockers installed in the browser and wont let them use the site unless the blocker is disabled.

It seems that perhaps bedroom technologists will be lucky to succeed; though this is no different to what happened in the video games industry as todays video games have budgets that are in excess of hollywod feature films. The likes of manic miner and pacman just dont get developed today

It will be interesting to see if Vana does launch her app.
